Includes Four ZB53 HMG teams
The Romanians used the 7.92mm ZB-53 (Zbrojovka Brno, Czechoslovakia) machine-gun model 1937.
In the first months of 1941 front line Romanian Machine-gun units started to receive the new Czech ZB-53 model 1937 machine-gun. Reserve troops and those not yet in the front line were equipped with the Austrian Schwarzlose model 1907/1912 (see the Hungarian Machine-gun Platoon) modified for the 7.92mm cartridge.
ZB-53 is well known in its other form as the Besa 7.92mm machine-gun fitted in British manufactured tanks. It was a simple, flexible and reliable machine-gun.
